A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make.

Choosing the Fairy Foundation for your legacy gift provides meaningful and lasting support to our organization. A simple bequest that names the Fairy Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or living trust provides a meaningful way of extending personal gratitude and appreciation for our mission.

What is a bequest?

A bequest is the act of giving property under your will or living trust, such as cash, securities, real estate or other assets.

How do I make a bequest?

With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to family, friends, or the Fairy Foundation as part of your estate plan.

What are my bequest options?

  • Percentage of your estate
  • Specific dollar amount or asset
  • Portion of the balance or residue of your estate

How Do I make a bequest of my retirement assets?

A retirement asset, such as an IRA account, makes an excellent bequest to us. If the IRA were given to your family, much of the value may be lost through estate and income taxes.

By designating Fairy Foundation as the beneficiary of all or part of your IRA (using a beneficiary designation form provided by your custodian), the full value of the gift is transferred tax-free at your death and your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction.

Can I change my bequest?

Beneficiary designations are revocable and are not payable until death. You have the comfort of knowing that you can amend or revoke your legacy gift if you circumstances or family needs change.
